You are receiving this because you are a fan fitting into any number of categories. If you want to stay on the mailing list in print form, you need to acknowledge in some way (a postcard or e-mail would be two good ways). This is true even if you aren't sure you are going on the tour.
If you are on the e-mail list you will stay on until you ask to be removed. If you haven't gotten any e-mail in a while you might want to drop me an e-line in case the mail isn't getting through.

If you aren't on my e-mail list, or don't live locally, this may be the first you have heard of this tour. Well, I surveyed folks via the web to get an idea of how much time people had, and what they were interested in. The results were interesting, useful, and occasionally amusing. (Nigel put in a Kangaroo-riding question just to be silly, and some people said they wanted to...).

For tour length, people said anywhere from 6 days to 25 days. This is in addition to the convention and air flight time. Most results were in the 11-15 range. They were asked if they would like to travel before or after the convention. Many didn't care, and of those who did, those preferring “before” outnumbered “after”s by two to one. The advantage to before is getting to know some new people with whom you can pal around at the convention, as well as being adjusted to most of the time difference. The disadvantage is it conflicts with the NASFiC, held the weekend before AussieCon III.

So that is why the tour is as you see below. I went over and over different itineraries, cities and sights. I reviewed what the ’85 Lemmings had done, and tried to put in a variety of attractions. I also tried to cover most of the basics for first time visitors. There should be something for everyone on this tour. There are good reasons for everything in the tour, and everything not in
the tour. Feel free to ask why if something piques your curiosity.

A $300 nonrefundable deposit is required to guarantee your space on the tour. Most of the rest of the tour is payable by credit card. The deadline has not yet been set, but tour space is on a first-come first served basis. Send this to The Complete Traveler, at the address below.

Additional Information

Would you prefer to receive new information by mail, e-mail, website, don't care or mail and e-mail both? I prefer e-mail for speed and cost savings, but I can understand people wanting or needing information by mail.
How do you feel about letting people know you'll be on the tour? It may help fence-sitters decide if they can't make up their minds.

••• Children will be allowed on this tour. If this is a concern, I will let you know how many children we have signed up.
••• The itinerary as laid out here is subject to change. If we get enough people on the tour, one or two items I had to remove will be put back in.
••• Why so many optional tours? This is to give flexibility so those who have already been to Australia, will not have to do the same tours if they do not want to, as well as for cost savings. I encourage you to take some of the optional tours. I also encourage you not to take all of them. Remember you will need some time for rest, shopping, and above all laundry!
